WORKSHOP TO HELP WOMEN GET ON CORPORATE BOARDS

Baltimore—Network 2000, Inc., and Greater Baltimore Committee are presenting a March 28 workshop that will provide tips, techniques and research results for businesswomen to improve their success for placement on corporate boards.

The workshop, titled “All aBoard: Getting Considered for Board Service,” will be held Tuesday, March 28, at the Tremont Grand Hotel in the Corinthian Room (225 Charles St.). Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m., and the workshop program will follow at 8 a.m. The cost of the workshop, including breakfast, is $35.

It will feature expert panelists who will discuss topics including, how to join a board of directors, critical criteria of a prospective director; the importance of board diversity; and how to build a diverse board. In addition, the workshop will provide a forum for Network 2000 to announce results of its new study examining the makeup of corporate boards in Maryland.

Workshop panelists include James Brady, managing director, Ballantrae International, Ltd.; Robert Lawless, chairman, president and CEO, McCormick & Co., Inc.; Margaret Preston, executive vice president, Mercantile Safe Deposit and Trust Company; and Abigail E.
