NETWORK 2000 DONATED $25,000 TO MILITARY SPOUSE EDUCATION FUND

Baltimore— Network 2000, an organization promoting the advancement of women in professional and executive roles, donated $25,000 to The American Military Spouse Education Foundation (AMSEF), providing funds to help military spouses find educational opportunities.

AMSEF’s primary goal is providing spouses of armed-forces personal with scholarships for attending higher educational institutions. The organization believes that helping military spouses obtain these educational opportunities will increase stability of military families and raise satisfaction levels of the military lifestyle with those spouses.

Network 2000 makes annual contributions to local organizations with programs that further the mission of Network 2000 at its annual Women of Excellence Luncheon. Past recipients of this gift include the University of Maryland School of Law’s Women, Leadership & Equality Program; Central Scholarship Bureau’s Emerging Women Scholarship; the United Way’s Women’s Initiative; and the Baltimore Giving Project.

Network 2000 is a statewide not-for-profit organization in Maryland composed of professional women and men. The organization initiates, supports and engages in activities to prepare and promote women to achieve their full professional potential. Network 2000 seeks to place women on corporate and not-for-profit boards and educates the public on the benefits of having women in decision-making positions. Members serve as role models and mentor to women seeking to advance their career.

AMSEF is an independent, nonprofit IRS 501 (c) (3) foundation dedicated to enhancing the stability and well-being of the American military family by providing educational opportunities and recognition for the military spouse.
