NETWORK 2000 HONORED MERCY HEALTH SERVICES WITH BUSINESS 2000 AWARD

Baltimore— Network 2000, Inc., an organization promoting the advancement of women in professional and executive roles, honored Mercy Health Services/Mercy Medical Center with its annual Business 2000 Award. The award recognizes Mercy for its dedication to the advancement of women in the workplace and its commitment to a diverse and productive work environment.

Mercy Health Services is a university affiliated hospital, sponsored by The Sisters of Mercy. Founded in 1874 by six Sisters of Baltimore, Mercy Health Services has grown to a thriving hospital recognized nationally for its quality patient care, state-of-the-art facilities, and outstanding medical staff. Mercy Health Services was named one of the nation’s 10 Best Women Centers and Top 100 Hospitals.

Network 2000 presented the Business 2000 Award to Mercy Health Services on Oct. 31 at the 14th Women of Excellence Luncheon, an annual event in Baltimore that provides a forum for Baltimore professionals to experience insight from some of the world’s most influential and inspiring women.

Network 2000 is a statewide not-for-profit organization in Maryland composed of professional women and men. The organization initiates, supports and engages in activities to prepare and promote women to achieve their full professional potential. Network 2000 seeks to place women on corporate and not-for-profit boards and educates the public on the benefits of having women in decision-making positions. Members serve as role models and mentor to women seeking to advance their career.

Mercy Medical Center is a 133-year-old, university-affiliated medical facility named one of the 10 best centers for women’s health. Mercy is part of Mercy Health Services, Inc., which also includes Stella Maris, Central Maryland’s largest long-term/geriatric care facility located in Timonium, MD, as well as a network of community health centers.
