Network 2000 and the Greater Baltimore Committee presented:
Roadmap to the Boardroom: One Woman's Journey to the Top Ranks of Corporate America and Steps that Some in Corporate America are Taking to Change the Landscape

This event was held on March 22, 2011 at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in Baltimore. We heard from our Keynote speaker Jane E. Shaw Ph.D. (Chairman of the Board of Directors, Intel Corporation and Retired Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Aerogen, Inc.) about her own roadmap to the boardroom. Also Network 2000 announced the recipient of the Business 2000 Award, Legg Mason, Inc., at this annual event.

We also released the 2010-2011 Census Report (appendices for the 2010-2011 Census Report). “The downturn in the Maryland economy appears to have impacted the number of companies in this year’s census, which affected the results,” said Ellen Fish, president-elect of Network 2000 and key researcher. “The census shows women remain under-represented on boards in Maryland, despite the clear value of diversity on boards. Women make up half the population and offer leadership from a different perspective – one that’s vital to the bottom line.” We appreciate the press coverage on this report.
