network 2000, inc
founded in 1993 with the mission to promote the advancement of women in professional and executive positions.
Women on Boards
One of the critical missions of Network 2000 is to increase the number of women serving on corporate boards. Women make the majority of consumer decisions for themselves and their families. Over half of the workforce is women. Women open businesses at twice the rate of men. Research shows that a company whose corporate board reflects their customer and workforce base improves their bottom line. Thanks to our membership in the InterOrganization Network, ION, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the number of women on for-profit boards and in executive suites. Representing approximately 10,000 women, ION helps build awareness, opportunities and connections by creating a national voice for its 14 regional member organizations. The annual ION Census Report has been released and includes the Greater Baltimore Committee's Donald Fry as one of the "Guys Who Get It".
Roadmap to the Boardroom: 2010 and Beyond
This annual program presented by Network 2000 and the Greater Baltimore Committee provided an update to the status of women on corporate boards in Maryland and was held on Thursday, April 8, 2010. It included a panel discussion on Corporate Governance.
